3 Days Murchison Falls

Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala – Ziwa – Murchison Falls National Park
We begin our adventure with an early pickup at 8:00 am from your hotel or residence in Kampala. Traveling north along the Gulu Highway, our first stop is at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola, the only home of white rhinos in Uganda. With a ranger guide, we’ll track these endangered giants on foot and learn fascinating facts about their biology, feeding habits, and survival in the wild.
Afterwards, continue to Masindi for a hearty lunch at Kabalega Restaurant before proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park. As the sun begins to set, we enjoy our first evening game drive, where sightings may include giraffes, buffalo, elephants, lions, hyenas, waterbucks, and beautiful bird species. Later, we check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game Drive – Boat Cruise – Top of the Falls – Cultural Visit
After an early breakfast, we set off for a morning game drive through the savannah plains. This is prime time to spot predators like lions and leopards, alongside elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and playful primates. The morning light also makes for stunning photography.
Later, we embark on a boat cruise along the Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. Expect close encounters with hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and countless birds such as the fish eagle, African darter, and egrets. Your guide will share captivating stories about the park and the mighty falls as the thunderous waters come into view.
In the afternoon, we head for a community visit at Mubaku village. Interact with locals, learn about their culture and daily life, and see their traditional grass-thatched homes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
 
Day 3: Top of the Falls – Return to Kampala
We start the day with breakfast before checking out and making our way to the Top of the Falls. From here, you’ll witness the full force of the Nile as it squeezes through a 7-meter gorge before plunging into the Devil’s Cauldron below. The spray, roar, and scenery are unforgettable.
After soaking in this natural wonder, we begin our journey back to Kampala. Lunch is enjoyed en route at Kabalega Restaurant. By evening, we arrive in the city, marking the end of an exhilarating adventure filled with wildlife, culture, and the unmatched power of Murchison Falls.
