DAY 01Journey North, Rhinos, and the First Glimpse of the Falls
Your honeymoon begins with a scenic drive north from Kampala/Entebbe towards the untamed wilderness. This day is about the journey and your first thrilling wildlife encounter.
Morning: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (The "Missing" Big Five)
06:00 - 06:30: Pick up from your hotel. Your private guide will brief you on the adventure ahead.
09:00 - 11:00: Arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you will embark on a guided Rhino Tracking experience on foot .
The Experience: Accompanied by an armed ranger, you will trek through the savannah to find the endangered Southern White Rhinos. This is the only place in Uganda to see rhinos in the wild, completing the "Big Five" experience .
Romance Angle: Walking hand-in-hand through the African bush, hearing the heavy breathing of a rhino just meters away, is an adrenaline-filled bonding moment.
11:30 - 12:30: Enjoy a relaxed lunch at the sanctuary's lodge or Amuka Safari Lodge, overlooking the plains .
Afternoon: The Power of the Nile
12:30 - 15:00: Continue your drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will pass through the legendary Budongo Forest, known for its chimpanzees and towering mahogany trees.
15:30 - 17:00: Before checking into your lodge, take a detour to the Top of the Falls.
The Experience: Witness the Nile River, the world's longest river, violently explode through a narrow 7-meter gorge and plunge 43 meters down. The spray, the roar, and the rainbows make for a spectacular first impression and incredible honeymoon photos .
Evening: Check-in & Romance
17:30: Check into your chosen lodge (Recommended: Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile Safari Lodge for honeymoon views).
19:30: Enjoy a welcome drink and a special romantic dinner.
Special Touch: Most lodges offer honeymoon packages including rose petals on the bed, a bottle of sparkling wine, and private balcony dining overlooking the Nile .
Overnight: Murchison Falls National Park.
DAY 02Game Drives, The Nile Cruise, and Sundowners
Today is the heart of your safari. You will explore the savannahs looking for lions and giraffes, then take to the water to get up close with hippos and the base of the falls.
Morning: The Savannah Awakens
06:30 - 10:30: Rise early for a Morning Game Drive on the northern plains of the park (Buligi Track).
What you'll see: This is prime time to see predators like lions and leopards returning from their night hunts. You will also see large herds of elephants, Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and warthogs .
Pro Tip: Bring a thermos of coffee and enjoy a "bush breakfast" at a scenic stop within the park.
Late Morning: Relaxation
10:30 - 13:00: Return to the lodge for a late brunch. Use this time to relax by the pool, get a couple's massage, or simply enjoy the view from your room.
Afternoon: The Nile Boat Cruise
13:30 - 16:30: Embark on the highlight of the safari: a Boat Cruise to the base of the falls.
The Experience: Sail along the Victoria Nile, getting incredibly close to yawning hippos, massive Nile crocodiles, and elephants bathing on the riverbanks .
Birding: Look out for the prehistoric-looking Shoebill Stork, Goliath Herons, and kingfishers.
The Finale: The boat stops at the "Devil's Cauldron," where you feel the mist of the falls before hiking a short distance back to the top (or returning by boat).
Evening: Sundowners & Starlight
17:30: Return to the lodge. Freshen up for a private sundowner.
19:00: Dinner. Request a table on the edge of the terrace. If available, arrange a private bush dinner under the stars for the ultimate romantic gesture.
Overnight: Murchison Falls National Park.
DAY 03Final Game Drive & Departure
Enjoy your last morning in the bush before heading back to the city, taking the sights and sounds of the wild with you.
Morning: Last Look at the Wild
· 07:00 - 09:00: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast. If you missed any animals on Day 2, you can request a short "exit game drive" as you leave the park.
· 09:00: Check out and begin your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe.
· 13:00: Stop in Masindi town or at the Kabalega Diner for lunch.
· 17:00: Arrive back in Kampala/Entebbe, marking the end of your 3-day honeymoon safari.
